Default My new KJ custom cue

    Hi all,
I have posted this at the "cue showcase" section as well BUT I think that this cue deserves to be here as well.

KJ, thank you very much for this amazing cue!

I've known KJ for a long time from Seybert's forum and I wanted to get a cue from him for a very long time.
    I finally did
It's been great dealing with KJ, he is a real pro.
I have to say that his craftsmanship is second to none and his finish is superior to many. He really knows how to build a good playing cue.

This cue features a Brazilian Rosewood forearm and butt with a beautiful BEM handle. there is a wide Maple burl ring above the butt cup and the KJ's trade mark rings at all locations, each ring is shifted at 45 degrees from the other.... beautiful and accurate work.
I really like the natural tone of the cue.
And above all it plays great!!!
It came with a Predator 314-2 shaft and KJ's shaft that was made from a hand picked blank from Cory Barnhart, this shaft feature the old type Aegis ferrule that gives the hit a "ping" similar to ivory.

    Enjoy the pictures

    Thank You Skor,

It was my great pleasure to build this cue for you.
From it's very inception, this cue was special for me.

This cue took longer to build than what I would have liked due to the amount of work that I do for Sey, but through it all, you had the patience of a tree. You are truly a remarkable client and I thank you for that.

I wish you many many years of enjoyment with this cue.

    KJ

There was no stain used anywhere on this cue.
The forearm & butt-sleeve are true Brazilian Rosewood.
While the Rosewood used is not highly figured, it was chosen
for it's straightness of grain and musical 'tap-tone'.
Every component of this cue was chosen specifically to provide the ultimate 'hit'.
This may very well be the strongest hitting cue I've ever built.
Unfortunately, Brazilian Rosewood is all but extinct now and my supply is limited.
These cues will indeed be rare.

Thank You for your kind words and interest.
Seyberts currently handles a line of my cues known as the '45' series.
That series is comprised of Birdseye Maple based construction.
I am in the process of building a new series of cues for Sey that will be of Rosewood
construction. The first prototypes are nearly completed.
Given the amount of custom & repair work that I do for Sey, my cue building time
comes at a premium. Skor's cue took a year to build.
Please contact Rick at Seyberts and we can discuss what you'd like in a cue.

    Dear kj,

I respect your work very much. I am familiar with brasilian rosewood and know it hits very stiff. I am a deeply mad poolfanatic and love to experiment with my material.
I am willing to wait for one of your masterpeaces . I am willing to wait as i am interested in quality. This cue Will last lifetime.
I would like THE Same cue as skor ( as good as possible of course )

I Will contact Rick for THE price and THE deliverytime and Hope to one day own and play with one of your masterpeaces

Hey hey hey.... no one can get a cue exactly like mine!!! hehehe

This cue plays great and is stiffer than any cue I've ever played with.
The sound of the hit is pure, even with the 314 shaft and cristal clear with KJ's shaft.
Who ever gets a cue from KJ will not regret it.

    Dear skor,

It is difficult enough to buy cue that you don't have... Haha.. I'm looking for cue that is constructed for it's playability only for quote some time. I have cue with lot of inlays fight now, looks very fancy and plays good as well. But i like THE pureness of this cue, THE beatifull selected woods that are used, and THE filosophy that it is built with..
My mouth is watering when i look at it i want to play real long session with it... Can already hear THE crisp sound of THE deciding matchwinning long straight in shot!!!

If you ever visit Holland, send me MessagePad, i would love to make some time for good session of pool with you!!

    Always welcome,

    Br
